IDSS and Euroconsult Mott MacDonald are leading international development firms managing the Australian Government funded Indonesia Australia Forest Carbon Partnership (IAFCP) Facility based in Jakarta, seeks two exceptional individuals to lead our Forest Carbon Partnership Offices in Palangka Raya, Central Kalimantan (existing), and Jambi, Sumatra (new). Current funding goes until June 2012, with possible extension.
Coordinators are senior members of the IAFCP team and will serve as team leaders for these two field demonstration sites, responsible for all aspects of operation and output. Coordinators will manage site-based demonstration activities, liaise with local government and NGO counterparts, establish and convene local/regional management coordination groups, collaborate on M&E system design and implementation, develop training and capacity-building plans, plan and coordinate technical assistance and monitoring missions, execute tasks as assigned, and advise the IAFCP and Government counterparts on advancing REDD program goals.
Ideal candidates will hold an advanced degree in a subject relevant to the sustainable management of natural resources; have demonstrated experience of managing complex development programmes and partnerships; possess a blend of managerial, communications and facilitation skills; demonstrate at least some technical knowledge of forests and climate change; fluent English and Indonesia language skills, both spoken and written; prior experience in the region of the preferred demonstration site, and demonstrate the ability to imbue all exchanges with professionalism and positive good will. The post carries a specific emphasis on working in conjunction with multiple partners, including local governments and non-governmental organisations, and the candidate should also be able to demonstrate the skills and experience necessary for this type of collaboration.
