Indonesia Jobs: Vacancies : Health & Hygiene Program Manager and Project Engineer

The United Methodist Committee on Relief, Non-Governmental Organization (UMCOR-NGO) (www.umcor-ngo.org) is a not-for-profit organization that provides transitional development and relief assistance to communities in need around the world. UMCOR-NGO's Indonesia Mission (UMCOR-Indonesia) is looking to fill the following positions:

1. HEALTH & HYGIENE PROGRAM MANAGER Based in Banda Aceh & Bireuen

Qualifications:

At least 5 years of related experience in health and hygiene promotion, school or community moblization, public health grant and agreement management, and/or program design and grant implementation.
Preference for Master's Degree in Public Health or related field.
Direct experience supervising and managing multiple health staff
Strong experience with participatory training of schoolchildren, teachers, and/or health professionals and demonstrated results improving desired positive health practices.
Strong skills in designing and implementing KAP Surveys and monitoring and evaluating health interventions.
Knowledge of international development with international work experience in developing counties.
Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
Ability to travel regularly between Bireuen and Banda Aceh and to support staff in multiple locations.
Experience in managing international programs and knowledge of various international donor guidelines preferred.

Responsibilities:

· Provide overall strategic direction for the health and hygiene components of the project in consultation with UMCOR Senior Management and the donor.

· Develop yearly and monthly work plans for health and hygiene components of the project in coordination with Field Coordinator, Program Coordinator and Head of Mission.

· Supervise and support national Health Project Officers.

· Oversee KAP surveys and reports.

· Lead in designing and implementing participatory and innovative hygiene education training materials for schoolchildren, teachers, doctors, nurses and other hospital staff.

· Ensure that proposal targets are met and effectively reported on to the donor.

· Submit project reports to the donor as specified by the grant agreement.

2. PROJECT ENGINEER Based in Banda Aceh

Qualifications:

. University degree in Civil engineering, Water Engineering or close similar field

· At least three (3) years experience in infrastructure planning and construction, preferable in water supply & sanitation works.

· Proven ability to interact effectively with government officials/ local authorities is essential.

· Ability to establish priorities and undertake assigned tasks with minimum supervision.

· Able to communicate in English fluently, both in written and spoken

· Good drafting ability and communication skills, both oral and written to produce reports.

· Solid knowledge on AutoCAD.

Responsibilities:

· Develop project design drawing, prioritization of activities in respect of objectives and agreed timeframe.

· Conduct site assessment in the area where the water sanitation facilities will be built (water supply, drainage, sanitation, and other civil works).

· Design preparation of Site Layouts including preparation of topographic maps and elevations/sections and liaise as a surveyor.

· Provide design brief and the site conditions specifically for the WATSAN facilities, features and constraints and determine the best location and orientation.

· Design and prepare site sketches per site requirement to adapt plans to the site condition.

· Develop detailed and drawing specifications to enable builders to construct the project.

· Provide the general bills of quantity of the specific drawing.

· Ensure all the designs and BoQ are in accordance with SNI (Indonesian National Standard).
